What a night! Thank you to everyone who helped to celebrate with us as we hosted our annual two-year birthday bash cocktail fundraiser on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Lefkes Restaurant in Englewood Cliffs, NJ in honor of Women’s History Month.

“It was amazing to bring everyone together to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished in the past two years, to honor those who have really made an impact on our organization, and to provide two scholarships to two amazing young women,” said Irene Zervoudis, co-founder of Wonder Girls.

“We are so grateful for our incredible squad of women who have helped to make what Wonder Girls is today and for all the love and support from so many people who truly believe in our mission.  This is only the beginning, and as we tell our girls, always, always dream big!” said Natalie Maniscalco, co-founder of Wonder Girls.

In appreciation of their continued support of Wonder Girls, this year’s honorees included Julie Sadowski, Executive Director of the Rockland Community Foundation for the Champion of the Year Award; Tim Sanders, Director of The Haverstraw Center for the Humanitarian of the Year Award; Leslie Rodriguez, Jennifer Hammer, and Stefany Ovalles from the Center for Safety and Change for the Organization of the Year Award; Amie Lenkowiec, Wonder Girls Speaker, Mentor, and Board Member for the Inspire Award of the Year; and Tennille Ortiz, Wonder Girls Speaker, Mentor, and Founder of The Cupcake Carriage for the Inspire Award of the Year.

Wonder Girls ambassadors Caila Barreiros, a Senior at Lyndhurst High School, and Grismely Ferreira, a Freshman at Rockland Community College each received a $1,500 college scholarship in honor of Women’s History Month and their demonstration of the organization’s core pillars.

“My favorite thing about Wonder Girls is that it truly is a family!  They welcome anyone and everyone and I have connected with so many other girls and women who want to support each other and help girls like me flourish.  The Wonder Girls event was one big celebration of all the amazing things we have done together as part of Wonder Girls!” said Caila Barrieros.
