Wonder Girls Clothing Drive Volunteer Day
Wonder Girls high school girls kicked off their March Volunteer Day with a clothing drive to collect women’s career clothing for women in need in New York and New Jersey. What a great way to celebrate Women’s History Month!
A part of Wonder Girls’ mission is to build a sense of community and our Wonder Girls did just that during their monthly Volunteer Day! Wonder Girls partnered with the Women’s Rights Information Center, a non-profit organization that provides resources to support individual’s economic and emotional well-being, to collect donations from the community of gently used professional women’s clothing, shoes, bags, and jewelry.
Our Wonder Girls spent their Saturday morning at the Piermont Reformed Church in Piermont, New York, packing bags and bags of women’s career clothing and accessories to donate to the career closet at the Women’s Rights Center.
“We were both a part of a women’s business empowerment group and we both said there’s a lot of girls that need this before they become women,” said Irene Zervoudis, Co-founder of Wonder Girls.
Our Wonder Girls continue to empower women in the most remarkable ways, coming together to donate gently used professional clothing to women facing adversity.
