2 Ways to Be a Teen Leader

Young women are the future leaders of our community and country. We truly believe that women are the future and while it’s not always easy climbing up to the mountaintop, the journey is definitely worth it. Our girls need to know that they can make a difference in the world, and here's how:

Being a teen leader is important but it’s not always easy. If teens want to be leaders they need to realize that they have the power to take charge of their own lives and be a leader in their communities. The best way to do this is by being a part of an organization like WONDER GIRLS, which provides the training and the opportunities to put themselves in leadership roles.

For example, as an ambassador for WONDER GIRLS, we include our girls in all of our events and campaigns so they can develop public speaking skills, confidence, and an understanding of what it takes to be a part of something bigger than themselves. It sometimes feels uncomfortable and even scary, but by putting yourself in these situations, you will grow into the person that you want to become.

As a teen in high school especially, you have the power to take charge of your own life, and this is the time to do so. We are not telling you to not listen to your parents, but it’s important to start taking on responsibilities that will prepare you for either college or living on your own. For example, getting a part job will teach you how to manage your money, or doing your own laundry will help you with time management.

To succeed in life, you need to have both leadership qualities and a vision for where you want to go in the future. Today starts that journey. Make the change. Be the change. #WONDERGIRLS
