#GivingTuesday Volunteer Day

#GivingTuesday is a global day held on November 30th when we are asked to “pay it forward”. Millions of people give, share and celebrate with their generosity. Like so many organizations, we asked for online donations so that we can continue our mission of leading our girls and teaching them to be kind human beings, but on this day, we went a step further. We asked our Wonder Girls to join us for our monthly volunteer day where we partner with a different local non-profit organization so that our girls can learn about serious issues happening in their own communities. However, this month we went beyond our state and even further, our country borders to partner with Maestro Cares, an organization founded by musical artist Marc Anthony that builds orphanages around the world, and Goya Cares, a global initiative to combat child trafficking founded by Goya Foods.

On #GivingTuesday, our girls created friendship bracelets and holiday cards that were sent to girls who live in orphanages in Mexico. Sadly, many of these girls have been victims of child trafficking, domestic violence, and abuse. We hope that our gifts from our Wonder Girls will provide hope, love, and words of support to these girls. It is a small token from a very special day that we were able to share with so many girls of all ages and schools from both New York and New Jersey.

Thank you to all our Wonder Girls and volunteers for your help and for caring about others. #girlssupportinggirls
